How To Update Nexus One To Android 2.2 Manually
After Google rolled out Nexus One upgrade, many lucky N1 owners got their firmware upgraded to the all new, cool and speedy Froyo. So, what about those N1 owners who either didn’t get the lucky upgradepush notification or those who happen to own a N1 outside the USA?
Here is how you can manually upgrade your N1 software to Android 2.2.
1. To start of with, firstly download this Android 2.2 firmware below.
After you have downloaded the file, make sure to rename the file as Update.zip. If you are running windows XP then it is important to double check the name of your file which should be update.zip and not update.zip.zip.
2. After you have this file renamed, copy it to your device’s microSD card using any method you prefer and power off your phone.
3. Now hold the volume reduction button as you power up your N1 again. At this point a popup screen should appear that indicates the phones searching for various files etc.
4. Now tap down to recovery and push the power button.
5. After this a popup triangle with an exclamation should appear on the screen. At this point press the power and the volume up button together and select “Apply sdcard:update.zip”.
Wait for a while and screen will display install from sdcard completion message. Now simply reboot your device and there you go with Android 2.2 on your N1. Enjoy faster, durable and incredible Froyo and let us know what you think.
